Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

This role involves performing daily lab testing to ensure the quality and safety of our products. You will engage in a variety of tests and analyses, contributing significantly to our operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily lab testing for sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and oxygen levels.

• Conduct stability tests on pre- and post-bottling products and report results to the Lab Manager.

• Identify bacteria and yeast cells under a microscope.

• Review and report all test results with the Lab Manager.

• Perform and record results on all bulk, blends, and fermentations.

• Conduct sensory checks and record data for corks.

• Accurately perform lab procedures according to written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Maintain overall lab cleanliness, inventory, data entry, and chemical checks.

• Assist the Quality Assurance department and perform Quality Control checks as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in sciences such as Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.

• Familiarity with lab safety protocols and SOPs.

• Competence in using Excel, Word, and basic computer skills.

• Experience with microscopes and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Food or beverage manufacturing experience is a plus.

• GMP experience is an advantage.

• Can be entry-level from school or have 6+ months of industry experience.

Work Environment

You will work in a state-of-the-art lab with two other lab technicians, with occasional trips to the production floor to collect samples. Our operations prioritize exploration, creativity, and teamwork, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bolingbrook, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
