Responsibilities:Position Summary:
The Perioperative Surgery Coordinator is responsible for accurately scheduling patients for surgical procedures to ensure the most effective use of Operating Room time. Will coordinate all necessary ancillary services, clinical equipment, and anesthesia assignments to ensure availability of appropriate staff and equipment. Acts as a liaison between admissions and operating room. Notifies departments, services, and physicians if surgery date/time is rescheduled as necessary. Responsible for identification of errors, troubleshooting issues, and the preparation and distribution of reports. Verifies physician privileges, performs data entry and reception duties.
