Job Description

The Storyboard Revisionist supports the Story Teams by ensuring revisions, clean-ups, and refinements to existing storyboards are consistent in style, clarity, and continuity across episodes.

Responsibilities

  • Storyboard revisionists revise the storyboards where such changes could include the following:
  • Addressing acting, hookups, extra poses, etc.
  • Expanding a scene or cleaning up rough panels.
  • Ensuring that characters and designs are on model and to proper proportions.
  • Re-boarding and restaging from scratch (if necessary) from Director provided thumbnail sketches.
  • Conforming boards to animatic, ensuring accuracy of timing and dialogue cues.
  • Adding screen directions or other details for clarity.
  • Adhering to the production schedule provided by Line Producer to ensure shipping deadlines are met.
  • Maintaining organized files and follow Studio naming conventions and workflows.
  • Additional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contracts

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in storyboarding, revision, or animation production.
  • Solid drawing and composition skills with a clear understanding of staging, perspective, and acting for animation.
  • Knowledge of software and hardware including Cintiq, Toon Boon Storyboard Pro, Photoshop, Blender, or other applicable storyboarding software.
  • Animated series experience a plus.

Skills

  • Ability to align with style and sensibility of show.
  • Strong in comedy, action, emotional storytelling, and character interaction.
  • Strong staging, composition, and cinematography skills.
  • Strong draftsmanship, ability to draw characters on model and in a 3-dimensional setting.
  • Solid and consistent time management skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Job Location: Glendale CA

The pay rate for this role in California is $50.90 to $55.31 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
