Job Description

The Senior Process & Packaging Engineer position is responsible for determining operations to produce products and develops processes to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met. This position will focus on projects at 3rd Party Production sites in close cooperation with quality, R&D and technical scale up teams. The critical nature of the role is a deep knowledge of quality validation and packaging/process feasibility. This role troubleshoots problems with production and takes corrective action. The role also researches the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.  This role will be directly linked to our CAPEX projects in our North American sites, 3rd Party Manufacturing locations. There will be support of the current infrastructure in some instances.  

Your Responsibilities

•    Evaluate, implement and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of food and beverage ingredients.  
•    Create/edit/maintain necessary documentation.  
•    Work with maintenance to optimize equipment p.m. and calibration frequency. 
•    Assess the impact of raw material characteristics on process safety, equipment compatibility, and environmental requirements at the facility.
•    Support the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.  
•    Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.  
•    Collaborate with quality team to verify raw material suitability for processing and packaging requirements.
•    Assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.  
•    Quality validation and review of existing and new 3rd party production facilities and scale up product launches.
•    Quality and Engineering validation of all new packaging for Doehler North America sites and 3rd party locations
•    Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure alignment between R&D, sales, engineering and quality during project execution and technology transfers.
•    Provide technical support and oversight during the installation, commissioning, and qualification (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ) of new equipment or process upgrades

Your Profile: 

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, Master’s degree preferred
•    8+ years’ experience in process engineering, preferably in the food & beverage industry  
•    Less than 25% travel
