Job Description

Lamers Bus Lines is looking for a motivated, people-focused Part Time Office Assistant to join our School Bus Department team! In this unique role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our school bus terminal running smoothly—supporting daily operations, assisting the terminal manager from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Your days will include a mix of office responsibilities like booking charter trips, handling phone calls, and entering data, along with opportunities to get out on the road driving routes or charters. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are a must.  If you’re organized, adaptable, and ready for a role with variety and purpose, we’d love to meet you!

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of student transportation or commercial transportation operations is required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Must be detail-oriented.
• Willingness to drive school bus routes as needed
• Computer experience in a business or education environment is important.

Job Duties:

• Arrange transportation for charters. Assign drivers to trips
• Communicate with drivers on daily basis. Provide route and charter information and maintain a good relationship with drivers.
• Work with customers to book charter trips.
• Check in drivers and work with two-way radio during route times and throughout the day. Relay messages to drivers and handle concerns
• Answer incoming calls. Handle if able to, or direct to correct department.
• Provide assistance to other staff members if needed.
• Additional hours may be obtained as a school bus driver, filling in on routes and charters.
