Job Description

POSITION: PIT SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT: TABLE GAMES
REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be age 21 or older and qualify for a gaming license
  • Cannot be convicted of a felony
  • Technical training and or experience in table games required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a dealer of at least 2 table games in a casino with I year in a professional, supervisory position within a casino environment
  • Must be familiar with all table games in the casino
  • Cannot be colorblind
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the effective supervision and organization of staff and games, ensuring optimum revenues and customer satisfaction
  • Must have a full understanding of all gaming laws, internal controls, and procedures of Havasu Landing Casino
  • Responsible for the proper handling of all incidents in the pit of an irregular nature (i.e., disputes, drunk or disorderly behavior, high rollers, large losers)
  • Must be able to inform Senior Management of major changes in the pit and the incoming Pit Supervisor at shift change of all relevant information concerning customers and staff
  • Must be able to supervise the opening and closing of tables and verification of float balances
  • Must have the ability to determine accurate table fills; credits and communication with the cashiering department are essential
  • Responsibilities include correcting mistakes made by supervisors or dealers on the tables, ensuring the efficient running of all games through effective staff development and regular facilitation of the employee performance appraisal process
  • In conjunction with the shift manager, the Pit Supervisor must have the ability to determine the staffing levels and number of open tables based on business demands
  • Must be able to establish high standards for customer relations, ensuring those standards are maintained and identification of good customers for the Players Club are fundamental responsibilities of this position
  • Ability to manage disputes which are brought to the attention of the Supervisor, and must be handled in a diplomatic manner with the customer while providing support for the staff member
  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with Havasu Landing Casino procedures
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Other duties as assigned

The employee m ust occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, be able to identify colors, turn their upper body at least 60 degrees, and be able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
