Orientation and Mobility Specialist Opportunity | Interviewing Now!

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) for the 2024-2025 school year in Crosby, TX . The successful candidate will work with a caseload of approximately 7-10 students (depending on enrollment) across 7 campuses.
Caseload/Details:

• School Year: August 8, 2024 May 30, 2025
• Caseload: 7 Campuses; approximately 7-10 (subject to enrollment)
• Schedule: Flexible, create your own | 3 hours/week (No less than 10 hours/month)
• Pay Range: $28-35/hour

Special Requirements:

• Masters level degree in Orientation Mobility
• O&M License: Must hold a valid Orientation and Mobility License

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to determine the mobility needs of students
• Develop and implement individualized orientation and mobility plans
• Provide direct instruction to students to enhance independent travel skills
• Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including teachers and parents
• Monitor and adjust plans based on student progress
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and goals

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist preferred
• Excellent munication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create and maintain a flexible schedule
• Passion for enhancing the independence of students with visual impairments
