About the role:
The AWP Music Therapist is a full-time mental health role within the Ascent Wellness Program Campus. The Music Therapist will be serving clients in mental health recovery, with an approach that follows AWP principles and mission in order to create accessible, inclusive, culturally-aware, and fully-customized mental health support services.
The Music Therapist will work within multidisciplinary mental health teams and will follow a psychosocial rehabilitation approach focused on client’s choice. The Music Therapist will help develop intervention plans, including supporting a client’s journey toward autonomy by exploring music-based and sensory-based activities that can support the client in balancing their nervous system and bringing relief to symptoms outside of session.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is primarily serving clients in-home and via telehealth; travel between in-home sessions within Milwaukee County is a significant part of the job.

Our positions begin with an orientation period (approx. 2-4 weeks), during which employees receive valuable training on innovative, research-based practices, along with a gradual introduction to client services.
Starting pay ranges from $45,000- $60,000 annually, with potential for additional pay depending on volume of services provided.
