Hydraulic and Hydrology Engineer

EHS Support is seeking a Civil engineer with 5-10 years with stormwater and surface water modeling and design experience to join our team of engineers across the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Our team works with a wide variety of clients to address their environmental problems with cutting edge technology and research. This opportunity is for a flexible and self-motivated individual. You will be responsible for providing working with a team of engineers to provide technical support to projects across multiple service lines including Remediation, Sediment, Potentially Responsible Parties (PRP), and Mergers & Acquisitions. If hired, you can expect to travel as needed, based on client needs.

Typical responsibilities will include:
• Model surface water flows to support design of sediment capping/backfill
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to determine stormwater management needs for projects
• Prepare design plans and specifications for stormwater management systems, including detention and retention basins, permeable pavements, and green infrastructure practices
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
• Provide technical support during construction and maintenance phases of projects
• Stay up-to-date with the latest stormwater management techniques and technologies
• Reporting (modeling reports, work plans, etc)
• Project and task management – planning and implementation of scope, schedule, budgeting.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Traits required for success in our team:
• Engineering degree with the ability to get a Professional Engineer license
• Critical thinking and analytical skills
• Effective technical writing and oral presentation skills
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and co-workers
• Ability to develop presentations and facilitate a meeting – effectively delivering key messages and managing the discussion
• Effective “networker”, able to develop relationships with clients at many levels and identify and grow existing business opportunities
• Ability to develop strong internal company relationships
• Ability to think strategically and conceptually, as well as translate strategy into practical and tactical plans
• Ability to grow technical skills and take on increasing responsibility for remedial projects

Skills required for success in this role include:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 5+ years of experience in stormwater engineering
• Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software, such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Knowledge/use of Autocad Civil 3D or ArcGIS software
