Funeral Director- Intern

Location: Minnesota

Duration: 12 months

Anderson Funeral Home - Alexandria, MN

David-Donehower Funeral Home - Detroit Lakes, MN

Emblom- Brenny Funeral Home - Little Falls, MN

Let us be a part of your story!  We are hiring Funeral Director-Interns to join us in the Spring of 2024!  This is a 12-month program with potential to become full time after the internship is complete.

What we’ll offer you throughout your internship:

• Supervise and care for the deceased in a respectful manner that adheres to regulatory requirements.
• Hands-on experience in arrangements and conducting funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner.
• Perform a variety of tasks related to preparation of the deceased; removal and transfer, embalming, cosmetology, hairstyling, dressing and casketing.
• Accountability for serving families in a professional, compassionate, patient, and timely manner.
• Promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Carry out a variety of tasks related to coordinating a funeral service and visitation including managing the delivery and removal of flowers, caskets, urns, photos, and other personal memorabilia.
• Manager merchandise inventory and funeral home supplies.
• Assist the family with insurance assignments, paperwork and other related follow-up tasks as needed.
• Provide timely delivery of documents, cards, memorabilia, etc.
• Perform office duties and reporting.
• Accurately prepare all documents related to funeral services, cremations, and maintenance.
• Assist at the cemetery and participate as needed in various types of services.

Internship Qualifications:

• Degree from Accredited Mortuary Science Program plus additional college credits as required in MN
• Successful completion of the applicable State Board Examination
• Valid Drivers License
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
