We are seeking a part-time or full-time Comprehensive Community Advocate to provide case management, safety planning, and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence in culturally diverse populations. Key responsibilities: Assess the lethality of a clients situation and provide safety planning services.Provides assessment and service plan for clientsEducates clients on domestic violence dynamics and healthy relationshipsProvides supportive coaching and crisis intervention to domestic violence clientsLinks clients to appropriate services within the agency and in the greater communityAdvocates for clients within the justice systemProvides support to domestic violence victims during interviews with attorneys and prosecutorsExplains victims rights as set by the State of OhioOrients victims to the Civil and Criminal justice system by explaining procedures and offering accompaniment to courtMaintains appropriate documentation.Participates in regular supervision and team meetingsDemonstrates awareness of, follows all safety policies and procedures, and adheres to all recommended safe work practices. Also contributes to the control of hazards in specified area of responsibility.Keeps up to date with best practices surrounding domestic violence safety planningPerforms other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.Transports clients in a personal vehicle on an occasional basis.Collaborates with staff on special projects as needed.Serves as a community liaison and community educator as needed.Additional duties as assigned.
